A new television programme dedicated to real estate has been launched, promising to provide Nigerians with reliable information on property investment, land documentation, and housing development, as its promoters seek to tackle widespread misinformation and fraud in the sector.
The weekly programme, Real Estate Today, is an initiative of Qshelter Limited and M.I Okoro and Associates. It is expected to air on NTA Network, Arise Television, Channels Television and TVC.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos on Friday, the organisers said the programme was created after years of engaging with property buyers and investors who repeatedly raised concerns about the lack of credible information on real estate issues.
They said many Nigerians struggle to understand the legal and technical processes involved in buying land, verifying ownership documents and identifying genuine investment opportunities.
“You will recall that on the 30th of December 2025, M.I Okoro and Associates and Qshelter Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the marketing of several housing estates. Since then, we have continued to engage the public and receive valuable feedback,” the organisers said during the briefing.
“From that feedback, we realised that many people lack adequate information on real estate and environmental issues. While newspapers have dedicated property pages, there is no established television platform focused entirely on educating the public about these matters.”
They described the programme as part of their corporate social responsibility, saying it is intended to improve public knowledge while supporting efforts to make the property market more transparent.
According to the organisers, Real Estate Today will combine studio discussions with field reports, interviews and property inspections. Industry professionals, including estate surveyors, lawyers, architects, developers, mortgage experts and property consultants, will appear on the programme to explain issues affecting the housing market and answer questions from viewers.
The programme will also feature regular segments on property market news, legal guidance on land documentation, expert interviews, investment advice and showcases of residential and commercial developments.
Its stated goal is to help prospective homeowners, investors, entrepreneurs and members of the public make informed decisions before buying or investing in property.
The organisers said the programme would place particular emphasis on educating viewers about key land documents, including Certificates of Occupancy, Deeds of Assignment and Governor’s Consent, while also highlighting government policies that affect the real estate sector.
“We believe this platform will become a serious forum for discussing housing and environmental issues in Nigeria,” Meckson Okoro, Principal Partner at M.I.Okoro & Associates, assured.
“Our objective is to educate the public, promote responsible investment, encourage professionalism within the industry and help people avoid fraudulent land transactions,” he said
Okoro added that the programme would ultimately strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s property market by connecting professionals directly with the public and providing practical information that viewers can apply in their everyday property decisions.
The programme’s tagline is ‘Real Estate Today: Your Guide to Smart Property Investment.’
