The Management of Seplat Energy PL. says it has ended routine gas flaring across its onshore operations in Nigeria.
The oil and gas company said the milestone underscored its commitment to eliminating routine gas flaring in its operations across the country.
Samson Ezugworie, the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, disclosed this during a media chat with journalists on Sunday in Benin City.
Ezugworie said the feat was achieved at the end of 2025, describing it as a remarkable accomplishment both in Nigeria and globally.
“I will make bold to say that in our onshore operations, covering both our western and eastern assets, we achieved the end of routine gas flaring across all our onshore operations as of the end of last year”, he said.
He also stated that the company had invested in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as part of its commitment to boosting domestic gas supply and making cooking gas more available and affordable to consumers.
Ezugworie said the commitment is being demonstrated through the establishment of an LPG plant in Sapele, Delta State.
He added that the first trucks loaded with LPG cylinders were dispatched from the plant on April 20, 2026.
“We are committed to contributing to the availability of LPG and cooking gas in the country. We already have the plant in Sapele. The plant is located within our area of operation.
“Again, all these are borne out of the fact that we are committed to the things we say. One of our key mantras at Seplat is integrity. One of our core values is integrity, and integrity simply means there should be no gap between what we say and what we do,” he said.
