Operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the Kwara State Police Command have arrested three suspected members of the notorious Eiye Confraternity over the alleged abduction and murder of a student of Kwara State Polytechnic.
The arrests followed a thorough and painstaking investigation into the disappearance of the student, which uncovered the circumstances surrounding his abduction and eventual killing.
In a statement signed by Ajire Adetoun, the police PPRO, acting on credible intelligence and sustained surveillance, VCRU operatives carried out coordinated tactical operations at identified cult hideouts across Ilorin metropolis, leading to the arrest of Adeoye Babatunde Alimi, 23, also known as “Solar”; Bernard Kayode, 25, alias “KK”; and Owoyemi Bashiru, 27, alias “GDP.”
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are members of a violent cult group allegedly responsible for the abduction of Sodiq Durodola Olaniyi, 29, an indigene of Oyo State, who had been declared missing since June 4, 2026.
