Nigeria’s growing conversation around women’s leadership and economic inclusion will take centre stage on June 19 as the seventh edition of the SheCan Do More conference convenes in Lagos, with organisers reporting more than 13,800 registrations ahead of what is expected to be its largest gathering yet.

The conference, scheduled to hold at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, has evolved from a motivational event into a year-round leadership and empowerment platform connecting women and young professionals to mentorship, skills development, career advancement opportunities, and strategic networks.

Organisers say the strong turnout reflects rising demand for platforms that equip participants with the knowledge, relationships, and opportunities required to navigate an increasingly competitive economy.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lagos, Ezinne Ezeani, founder of SheCan Nigeria and deputy managing director of MBR Signature Ltd, described the initiative as a movement focused on unlocking leadership potential and expanding access to opportunity.

“The SheCan Do More conference is more than an annual event. It has become a platform where leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and changemakers share experiences that inspire transformation and open new possibilities for thousands of participants,” she said.

According to Ezeani, the conference now operates as part of a broader ecosystem that extends beyond a single day of engagement, offering mentorship programmes, networking platforms, skills acquisition initiatives, career support opportunities, and strategic collaborations throughout the year.

“We have deliberately built an ecosystem that supports women and young professionals beyond the conference itself. The event serves as a catalyst that connects participants to opportunities that can shape careers, businesses and personal growth,” she said.

With registrations approaching 14,000, organisers believe the conference is emerging as one of Nigeria’s largest women-focused leadership and entrepreneurship platforms.

The 2026 edition will feature keynote addresses, executive conversations, mentorship clinics, entrepreneurship sessions and networking engagements designed to strengthen leadership capacity, enterprise development and economic participation.

Ezeani noted that the platform’s broader objective is to address gaps in access to opportunity by creating spaces where women can acquire knowledge, build professional relationships and accelerate their ambitions.

“Women remain one of the most underutilised drivers of economic and social development. Creating pathways for learning, collaboration and opportunity is critical not only for individual advancement but for national growth,” she said.

The conference has also attracted growing support from corporate organisations seeking to advance inclusion and leadership development across sectors.

Among the headline sponsors is Seven-Up Bottling Company. Sari El-Khalil, managing director and chief executive officer, said the company’s partnership with SheCan reflects a shared commitment to resilience, growth and empowerment.

“The story of Seven-Up Bottling Company and the story of SheCan are connected by a common thread – resilience. When we understood the vision behind the initiative, we recognised values that align closely with our own and saw an opportunity to support a platform creating meaningful impact,” he said.

Other corporate partners and development organisations have similarly backed the initiative, citing its role in expanding access to mentorship, leadership development and economic opportunities for women.

As participation continues to rise, organisers say the conference is positioning itself not simply as an annual gathering but as a growing leadership ecosystem dedicated to connecting talent, ambition and opportunity within Nigeria’s evolving economy.
