Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Spanish international Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth €55 million, with the defender committing his future to the club until 2032.
“Real Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Marc Cucurella, who will join our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032,” the Spanish giants said in an official statement on Monday.

The 27-year-old left-back arrives at the Santiago Bernabéu after three seasons at Chelsea, having joined the London club from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022. Before moving to England, Cucurella developed through Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and later established himself in La Liga with Getafe.
Currently representing Spain at the FIFA 2026 World Cup, Cucurella becomes the sole Real Madrid player in Luis de la Fuente’s national team squad.
His arrival forms part of a major rebuilding project at the Spanish capital club following the re-election of president Florentino Perez earlier this month. Perez has already appointed Jose Mourinho as head coach after two consecutive seasons without a major trophy.
Cucurella departs Chelsea following a disappointing 2025-26 campaign in which the Blues finished 10th in the Premier League. The Spaniard was among those who publicly questioned the club’s decision to dismiss manager Enzo Maresca in January.
Despite the difficult season, Cucurella leaves Stamford Bridge with silverware, having helped Chelsea win the Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League in 2025.
With two years remaining on his Chelsea contract, the defender’s transfer provides Real Madrid with an experienced and versatile option on the left flank as Mourinho begins shaping his squad for the new era at the Bernabéu.
