Yusuf Murtala, senior director of marketing at Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited, has said the beverage giant continues to refresh Nigerians through innovative product offerings, consumer experiences and campaigns tailored to changing consumer preferences.
Speaking at an event to commemorate the beverage giant’s 75th anniversary in Nigeria, Murtala said the company’s longevity in the country has been built on its ability to evolve with consumers while remaining true to the brand’s core values.
“After 75 years, Coca-Cola remains grounded in still refreshing Nigeria through innovative product offerings, consumer experiences and campaigns that adapt to the evolving preferences of Nigerians and communities,” he said.
The event, held to mark the company’s milestone in Nigeria, also featured the unveiling of a limited edition 60cl PET bottle that offers consumers an additional 10cl compared with the standard 50cl pack. The anniversary packs are available in Coca-Cola Less Sugar, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Fanta and Sprite.
According to Murtala, the introduction of the larger bottle underscores Coca-Cola’s commitment to creating memorable experiences while delivering greater value to consumers.
“The launch of the 60cl PET bottle offers a powerful reminder of why the brand has remained a preferred companion during moments of celebration and a recipe for wonder,” he said.
Since entering the Nigerian market in 1951, Coca-Cola has grown into one of the country’s most recognised consumer brands, becoming a familiar presence at weddings, birthday celebrations, sporting events and family gatherings.
The anniversary initiative comes at a time when value is playing a growing role in consumer purchasing decisions, with many households seeking products that combine affordability and quality.
Also speaking at the event, Soji Omoigui, marketing director for flavours, said the anniversary campaign is intended to give consumers more of the experiences they associate with the Coca-Cola brand.
“Coca-Cola’s 75th anniversary aims to offer consumers more of the Coca-Cola experiences they enjoy with greater refreshment and enhanced value as a celebration of the past and a toast to the future,” Omoigui said.
Beyond the new packaging, the company said the anniversary celebrations will include a series of consumer activities focused on music, culture and community engagement as it commemorates 75 years of operations in Nigeria. :
