Corona Schools has unveiled a tech hub at its Ibeju-Lekki campus, marking a significant step in its efforts to bridge the gap between education, creativity and emerging technologies.
The facility, a 70th Anniversary Legacy Project of the Corona Schools’ Alumni Association, is designed as a centre for experiential learning that will equip students, educators and the wider academic community with digital skills and practical experiences needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Beyond serving as a learning space, the hub is envisioned as an innovation incubator where students can transform ideas into practical, technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
Speaking at the launch ceremony in Lagos last week, Olaniyi Yusuf, chairman of the Corona Schools’ Trust Council, described the project as an investment in the future.
“The Tech Hub is a seed that we hope will become a giant oak tree in the near future,” he said.
According to Yusuf, while the immediate objective is to provide students, teachers and non-teaching staff with opportunities to develop digital competencies, the long-term vision is to create a vibrant ecosystem that nurtures innovation and inspires solutions to societal challenges.
The chairman also reiterated the school’s commitment to expanding its technological footprint to ensure that learning remains seamless, engaging, experiential and accessible.
Designed as a hands-on learning environment, the Tech Hub is equipped with facilities that expose learners to fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, coding, virtual reality, digital media production and other emerging technologies.

The facility is expected to move students beyond theoretical learning by encouraging creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving.
Adeyoyin Adesina, chief executive officer of Corona Schools, said the initiative builds on the institution’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The idea for the Tech Hub grew out of our experience during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. While many institutions struggled to maintain learning continuity, Corona Schools successfully pivoted to online learning without shutting down. We decided to build on that experience and the infrastructure we had developed to create something even more impactful,” she said.
Adesina said the hub represents the beginning of a broader digital learning strategy aimed at keeping pace with emerging trends in education.
“In today’s fast-changing world, we are committed to staying ahead of emerging trends in education. Our vision is to develop this facility into a world-class learning studio where we can record lessons and create high-quality educational content that will benefit not only our students but learners everywhere. We also intend to introduce modular programmes that meet the needs of today’s generation, including initiatives such as a Language Boot Camp for Nigerians in the diaspora who wish to learn indigenous languages,” she said.
She added that the school intends to expand access to innovative learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting.
Dimeji Bello, who spoke on behalf of alumni representative, Rowland Odukomaiya, described the unveiling of the tech hub as a defining moment for both the Corona community and the future of education.
“The commissioning of this Tech Hub is a statement of intent that we refuse to allow our children to be spectators of the world being rapidly shaped and reshaped by technology. We are equipping them to be builders, creators, and leaders of the world,” Bello said.
With the new facility, the school aims to nurture a generation of critical thinkers, problem-solvers and responsible global citizens equipped to make meaningful contributions to society.
As education continues to evolve, Corona Schools says it is positioning itself not only to respond to the future of learning but also to help shape it.
