CFAO Mobility Nigeria has launched the 2026 Suzuki Across hybrid SUV in Nigeria, targeting motorists seeking lower fuel costs and more efficient vehicles as high petrol prices reshape consumer spending.

The company said the new Suzuki Across combines hybrid technology, all-wheel-drive capability and durability tailored to Nigerian road conditions, positioning it as a practical option for drivers facing rising transportation expenses.

The launch reflects a broader shift in Nigeria’s automobile market, where distributors are increasingly introducing fuel-efficient and hybrid models following the removal of petrol subsidies and sustained inflation that have pushed fuel prices sharply higher over the past two years.

Powered by Suzuki’s SHVS Mild Hybrid system, the vehicle is designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions without the need for external charging. The SUV also comes with Suzuki’s ALLGRIP all-wheel-drive technology aimed at improving handling across urban roads and rough terrains.

“The Suzuki Across is not simply another SUV introduction; it reflects a more intelligent and practical approach to mobility for Nigerians adapting to today’s economic realities,” Kunle Jaiyesimi, deputy managing director of CFAO Mobility Nigeria, said during the launch.

Industry analysts say growing economic pressures are changing buying patterns in Nigeria’s auto market, with consumers increasingly prioritising fuel economy, maintenance costs and durability over luxury features.

Aissatou Diouf, general manager of Suzuki by CFAO Mobility Nigeria, said the company expects the model’s hybrid efficiency and driving adaptability to resonate with Nigerian consumers.

“With intelligent hybrid efficiency, advanced AWD technology, premium comfort, and localized driving adaptability, the Suzuki Across is built to be smart on fuel, strong on roads, and premium in every drive,” she said.

The launch also highlights CFAO Mobility Nigeria’s attempt to deepen its footprint in after-sales support, a key factor influencing vehicle purchases in Nigeria. The company said it currently has service coverage across 19 states and more than 20 after-sales locations nationwide.

The Suzuki Across 2026 is now available at Suzuki by CFAO Mobility Nigeria dealerships across the country.
