The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed that Linda Ameh, the legal practitioner who was earlier declared missing, has been found safe and is currently assisting investigators with information related to the incident surrounding her disappearance.
The Command disclosed this in a statement issued by Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, who said the lawyer personally appeared at the Maitama Police Station to brief officers on what transpired.
According to the statement, Ameh had earlier been reported missing on May 6, 2026, sparking concerns among colleagues, associates, and members of the public.
The police, however, assured residents that efforts were ongoing to track down and apprehend individuals connected to the incident.
“The FCT Police Command wishes to inform the public that Linda Ameh, the legal practitioner earlier reported missing on 6th May 2026, has been found and personally reported to the Maitama Police Station to provide details of the incident,” the statement read.
The Command further noted that Ameh was cooperating with investigators by providing useful information that could assist in unraveling the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and aid the arrest of those responsible.
“The Command further states that investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the crime, while Ameh is assisting the Police with useful information to aid ongoing investigative efforts and ensure the perpetrators are apprehended,” the statement added.
While the police did not disclose specific details regarding the nature of the incident or possible suspects, the Command assured the public that the investigation was being handled with seriousness.
