Mustapha Salihu, a Gubernatorial Aspirant in Adamawa State, has pledged to sustain and expand the development strides of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Salihu, a former North-East Zonal Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the commitment in Yola while formally declaring his intention to contest the Governorship seat.
He said his Administration would build on the existing achievements of the current Government with a focus on strengthening infrastructure, improving social services, and advancing economic development programmes across the State.
“I will consolidate on the legacy of Gov. Fintiri and ensure that development efforts are not only sustained but improved for the benefit of all residents,” Salihu stated.
The aspirant emphasised the importance of inclusive governance, noting that his Administration would prioritise people-centred policies, transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery in all sectors.
Salihu also expressed readiness to collaborate with key national figures, including President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, to attract federal support and investment to Adamawa State.
He assured party leaders and residents that he would uphold public trust if given the mandate. “I will not betray the confidence of the President, relevant authorities, and the good people of Adamawa State,” he added.
Bathiya Wesley, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, described Salihu as a credible candidate, citing his experience and contributions to the party.
Wesley called on residents to support the aspirant in the 2027 election, stressing the need to sustain developmental gains recorded under Fintiri’s Administration.
He also urged Salihu to build on the governor’s legacy, noting that the current Administration had delivered tangible progress across critical sectors.
As part of his declaration activities, Salihu visited the APC Secretariat, where he formally presented himself and submitted his nomination form.
