Hamza Madagali, the Adamawa State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has assured aspirants of a free, fair and transparent governorship primaries ahead of the 2027 election.

Madagali gave the assurance while receiving the APC governorship aspirant, Felix Tangwami, Friday, in Yola.

He stressed his commitment to internal democracy and equal opportunity for all contestants.

“Under my watch, there will be a level playing field for all aspirants. We will ensure a free and fair process that no one will have cause to regret,” he said.

The chairman emphasised that the party would uphold democratic principles across all elective positions, from State Assembly to the governorship, assuring members of a credible process acceptable to stakeholders.

Earlier, Tangwami who doubles as the commissioner for health, congratulated Madagali on his emergence as chairman and pledged loyalty to the party leadership.

He said unity and discipline would remain central to his ambition.

The aspirant explained that his visit was to formally notify the party of his entry into the governorship race, noting that his ambition is driven by a desire to serve and contribute to the state’s development.

He acknowledged the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, adding that his experience within the system has prepared him to sustain and improve on existing gains.

Tangwami outlined his agenda to include economic reforms, industrialisation, youth and women empowerment, agriculture, healthcare improvement, security and affordable housing.

He said that his vision was to create opportunities, boost businesses and improve citizens’ living standards.

Reaffirming his commitment to party supremacy, he opposed imposition and insisted that credible primaries remain the best pathway to producing acceptable candidates.

In a related development, Tangwami met with the Forum of Special Assistants to the Governor, where he reiterated his commitment to fairness, accessibility and accountable leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, Adamu Kiri, its chairman, expressed confidence in Tangwami’s leadership and urged him to fully participate in the primaries, cautioning against consensus arrangements that undermine democratic principles.
