The Federal Government is advancing a commercialisation push aimed at turning research outputs into market-ready products as the Energise Commercialisation Now ECoN initiative moved into the technical assessment stage in Kano.

In a statement from the ministry on Friday, Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, minister of innovation, science and technology, Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, said the programme is designed to fast-track the transition of ideas from laboratories into scalable enterprises.

He said ongoing technical evaluations by industry experts mark a critical step in bridging the gap between research and the market, positioning innovations for investment and commercial uptake.

The initiative is also expected to deepen collaboration between researchers, investors and policymakers while opening pathways for job creation and wealth generation.

Udeh said the programme aligns with national economic priorities by supporting innovation -ledenterprises that can compete globally.

Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, commissioner for information and internal affairs, Kano State, said the state is committed to supporting implementation to ensure measurable impact on livelihoods across the North West.
