The David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced May 12, 2026, for the inauguration of its newly elected state executives and chairmen.
This followed the conclusion of its congresses ahead of the April 14, 2026 national convention.
The NWC has vowed to continue with the party’s internal processes despite warnings by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which earlier said it would no longer recognise the Mark leadership citing Appeal Court ruling.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary, in a statement on Sunday, congratulated the officials on the peaceful conduct of their congresses, describing the exercise as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to internal democracy and the rule of law.
He noted that the inauguration may hold on the scheduled date or any later date to be communicated by the NWC.
Abdullahi urged the new executives to remain committed to the party’s ideals and align with the leadership direction of Senator David Mark as they work to strengthen the ADC across the country.
“These elections, conducted in line with the law and the party’s constitution, underscore the ADC’s enduring commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and the rule of law,” he said.

“As you prepare to assume office, we urge all elected officials to remain steadfast in their dedication to the party’s vision. The task ahead requires unity, discipline, and a sustained commitment to building a credible alternative for Nigerians,” he said.
The party expressed confidence that the new state leadership would expand its grassroots engagement nationwide.
