The Ekiti State Agro-allied Cargo International Airport has generated over N100 million in revenue within its first three months of commercial operations, signaling strong early financial viability and growing investor confidence in the facility.

Olawale Odoko, Commercial Officer of the airport, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, noting that the revenue was realised through multiple streams, including private jet landings, Passenger Service Charges (PSC), car hire services, retail outlets, office space leasing, guided airport tours, advertisements, and other ancillary services.

According to him, the impressive revenue performance underscores the airport’s viability as a strategic economic asset for Ekiti State.

“So far, we can say the airport is viable,” Odoko stated, stressing that the steady income flow reflects increasing utilisation of the airport’s facilities and services.

He further revealed that alongside the revenue milestone, the airport has also recorded over 4,000 passengers since the commencement of commercial flight operations on December 10, 2025.

Odoko explained that the airport had maintained a consistent flight schedule with both inbound and outbound traffic contributing to passenger volume, noting that operations currently run three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

“We have only had a single cancellation since we started operations, and since then, flights have been running smoothly. Our schedules are consistent, and in situations where delays are unavoidable, passengers are duly informed ahead of time,” he said.

The commercial officer added that the Airport’s performance has begun to attract increased interest from airline operators, a development expected to further boost revenue generation.

While United Nigeria Airlines currently operates scheduled flights, he disclosed that Overland Airways recently conducted an inspection of the airport’s facilities and expressed readiness to commence operations in April.

“About three weeks ago, Overland Airways came for inspection and indicated readiness to commence operations this April. In addition, two other airlines have also inspected our facilities and signified interest in joining,” Odoko added.

The development highlights the growing profile of the Ekiti State Agro-allied Cargo International Airport as an emerging aviation hub, with projections pointing to increased passenger traffic, expanded airline operations, and higher revenue inflows in the coming months.
