Galatasaray have received a major boost with Victor Osimhen closing in on a return from injury after fears his season could be cut short.

The Nigerian striker is recovering well from a fractured right forearm sustained in mid-March 2026 and has already resumed gym work following successful surgery in Istanbul.

Initial concerns suggested a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but Osimhen is now expected to return to competitive action by mid-April, within a revised 5–6 week recovery timeline.

The club confirmed that the forward has progressed to individual indoor sessions at the Florya Metin Oktay Facilities, focusing on maintaining fitness while avoiding further stress on the healing bone.

Reports indicate that Galatasaray’s medical team are targeting the high-stakes Intercontinental Derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26 as a potential comeback fixture.

Osimhen is expected to wear a specialised protective brace to facilitate an earlier return, even if the injury has not fully healed, underlining his importance to the team at a decisive stage of the season.

His comeback would be a timely boost for manager Okan Buruk, with the title race entering a critical phase.

Since completing his permanent move from Napoli, Osimhen has been in outstanding form, scoring 12 goals in 19 league appearances and adding seven more in European competition.

With Galatasaray pushing for silverware, the return of their leading striker could prove pivotal to their quest for the Süper Lig title.
