The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the redeployment of 162 senior officers across its formations nationwide in a move aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and enhancing road safety outcomes.
The redeployment, approved by Shehu Mohammed, the Corps Marshal, is described as a strategic shake-up designed to reinforce discipline, improve performance, and drive innovation within the Corps.
According to a statement signed by Agboola Olundegun, Assistant Corps Commander, Administration, Corps Public Education Office, the postings include the appointment of four new Zonal Commanding Officers and the reassignment of several Sector Commanders to key states and formations across the country.
The newly appointed Zonal Commanding Officers are ACM C.Z. Mathew (RS5HQ Benin), ACM A.L.O. Ruk (RS9HQ Enugu), ACM B.S. Akande (RS10HQ Sokoto), and ACM Leye Adegboyega (RS12HQ Bauchi), who are expected to provide leadership and strategic direction within their respective zones.
As part of the restructuring, the Corps Marshal also approved the appointment of a new Corps Public Education Officer, elevating Osondu Ohaeri, Deputy Corps Commander to the role to strengthen the Corps’ public communication and engagement strategy.
In the same vein, several Corps Commanders have been deployed as Sector Commanders to critical states, including Kaduna, Ogun, Benue, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, the Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Kogi, Imo, Osun, Oyo, Yobe, and Bauchi.
Among those affected are AP Longkam (Kaduna), O Ogunjobi (Ogun), VA Kayode-Oni (Benue), PE Bedford (Edo), CE Edem (Delta), FA Ajatta (Rivers), FM Kalu (Akwa Ibom), SO Ordu (Bayelsa), and T. Iliyasu (FCT), alongside several others redeployed to bolster field operations nationwide.

The Corps Marshal noted that the redeployments were guided by merit, experience, and the operational needs of the Corps, stressing that the organisation remains committed to deploying its most capable personnel to areas where their impact would be most significant.
He charged the newly appointed officers to demonstrate renewed commitment, professionalism, and strategic focus in their assignments, while reinforcing the Corps’ zero-tolerance stance on traffic violations and preventable road crashes.
The FRSC said the move underscores its ongoing efforts to reposition the agency for greater effectiveness in ensuring safer roads across Nigeria.
