Posters and campaign materials of prominent figures in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have dominated the Eagles Square, Abuja, venue of the party’s ongoing national convention, signalling early positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are visibly active at the venue, displaying banners and posters endorsing him for a second term of office.
The materials, strategically placed around the arena, reflect growing calls within sections of the party for continuity beyond 2027.
In a similar vein, posters and branded campaign vehicles of the senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha were also seen at the venue of the convention.
Supporters of Kogi State governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo, also displayed his posters promoting his desire to return for a second term.
The campaign materials, boldly displayed across key areas of the convention ground, drew attention from delegates and observers alike.
Other party stakeholders were not left out, as various groups also mounted posters projecting different political figures for elective positions at both the state and national levels.
The widespread display of posters added colour and vibrancy to the venue, while also highlighting the early jostling for power within the party.
Political analysts say such moves, though unofficial, are indicative of the intense behind-the-scenes calculations already shaping the race for the 2027 elections.
The APC national convention, which has attracted thousands of delegates and party leaders from across the country, continues through Saturday, with key decisions expected to shape the party’s direction in the coming years.
