A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a 40-year-old man, Adedeji Victor Olusola, in correctional custody over allegations of conspiracy and fraud.
The prosecutor, Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi, informed the Court that there is probable cause to remand the defendant, who is reasonably suspected of committing the offences of conspiracy and fraud involving about N100 million against Adedayo Olumuyiwa and 11 others.
Inspector Adeniyi stated that the alleged offences are punishable under Section 329 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State (2021), as well as Sections 1(3) and 11 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act (2006).
The incidents reportedly occurred within the Ado and Ikere-Ekiti Magisterial Districts between January and February 2026.
The prosecutor further noted the need for continued investigation pending the defendant’s formal arraignment at the Federal High Court.
The plea of the defendant, who was represented by Barrister Adunni Olanipekun, was not taken.
The Chief Magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted the prosecution’s prayers and ordered the remand.
