A statement from Galatasaray on Thursday confirmed that Osimhen suffered a fracture to his right forearm following hospital examinations.
A club statement released on Thursday confirmed the severity of the injury:
“Our player Victor Osimhen… suffered a fracture to his right forearm, which has been put in a cast. A decision regarding surgery will be made in the coming days after further examinations.”
The injury occurred early in the match after a collision with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté during an aerial challenge, with the Frenchman landing on Osimhen’s arm.
Galatasaray said the arm has been placed in a cast, with a decision on whether surgery will be required to be made after further medical assessments in the coming days.
The club did not disclose a recovery timeline for the striker, who has been a key figure this season with seven goals in the competition.
