The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old boy in Ngballang, located in Numan Local Government Area.

Police authorities said the case was reported on March 2, 2026, after a resident, Umar Ibrahim, lodged a complaint at the Numan Police Division that his son, Ramadan, had gone out to play on March 1 but failed to return home.

According to the police, efforts by family members and community residents to locate the child initially proved unsuccessful. Days later, Ibrahim reportedly received a phone call from an unknown number informing him that his son had been kidnapped. The caller demanded a ransom of ₦800,000 for the child’s release.

Following the report, operatives attached to the Numan Division launched an investigation that led to the arrest of two suspects, identified as Sadiq Ali, 19, and Shitu Umar, 23. Both suspects are residents of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area.

Police said the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation. The Command has directed its Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case for further investigation and possible prosecution.

In a statement issued on Friday, Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

Nguroje also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police formation.
