Accion Microfinance Bank has partnered with GirlLearn Africa to host a digital conference to strengthen women’s participation in the digital economy and improve their financial literacy.

The conference is organised as part of activities marking International Women’s Day; the event seeks to equip women with practical knowledge and tools needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven economy.

Ajiri Okoribe, founder of GirlLearn Africa, noted that the collaboration aims to help women gain practical digital and financial skills that can support both their personal and professional development.

“Women today are navigating a rapidly evolving digital economy. Through this partnership with Accion Microfinance Bank, women will be equipped with the knowledge, digital tools, and financial confidence needed to build sustainable careers and businesses,” Okoribe said.

The conference will feature keynote sessions, panel discussions, leadership insights, and hands-on workshops designed to strengthen participants’ digital and financial capabilities.

Themed ‘Driving Women’s Digital & Financial Empowerment’, the conference will take place on March 27, 2026, at the bank’s head office, which will bring together women to explore opportunities in digital skills, entrepreneurship, and financial independence.

Taiwo Joda, managing director and chief executive officer of Accion Microfinance Bank, will deliver the keynote address, where he will share perspectives on leadership and the role financial institutions play in advancing women’s economic empowerment.

Stephen Olalere, chief commercial officer of Accion Microfinance Bank, will spotlight financial products and services designed to help women better manage, grow, and invest their finances.

Participants will also hear from Treasure Ernest, who will speak on ‘The Digital Woman: Thriving in a Tech-Driven World’, which will focus on how women can build relevant digital skills and position themselves for opportunities in the modern workplace.

The conference will include breakout workshops focused on digital literacy, providing practical knowledge that participants can apply directly in their careers or businesses.

The organisers said the conference will also include networking sessions, interactive activities, and opportunities for women to connect with professionals and entrepreneurs across sectors.
