Jobberman Nigeria has called for inclusive hiring and improved workplace performance following the Lagos edition of its HR Fusion programme, held in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

The event took place on 20 February 2026 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos and was themed “The Power of HER: Advancing Inclusive Hiring and Workplace Performance.” It brought together HR leaders, executives, recruiters, and advocates to focus on implementation of inclusion in employment systems.

Olamide Adeyeye, head, Programmes and Country manager at Jobberman Nigeria, said the organisation sees itself as an ecosystem shaper with responsibility to influence how employment opportunities develop for young people.

“We have a huge responsibility as an ecosystem shaper to provide direction and learning for the ecosystem, such that we can shape the present and future of what matching and employment opportunities look like for young people,” Adeyeye said.

He said building a workforce centred on young people and supported by flexible work structures is necessary in response to global changes in work patterns. Adeyeye noted that inclusive hiring remains central to the organisation’s strategy, with focus on young people, women, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons. He said Nigeria’s population structure makes inclusive systems necessary.

“Research has shown repeatedly that organisations that are more inclusive in their hiring, have better economic and business outcomes,” he said, calling for recruitment reforms, demand-led talent pipelines, and gender inclusion policies.

Samantha Ifezuluike, Head of Operations at Jobberman Nigeria, urged employers to adopt measurable and intentional inclusion strategies.

“It should not be a check-in-the-box approach. Be very intentional about how you hire and how you support women through structured performance management, mentorship, and sponsorship,” she said. She added that data should guide inclusion decisions.

Participants shared responses to the discussions. Doyinsola Farayola, Operations Manager at Tash X @Filmhouse, said she would adopt a structured hiring approach. Lead, Project and Strategic Initiatives at PricePally, Benjamin Ogunbola, said inclusion should align with productivity and implementation.

The HR Fusion programme forms part of the partnership between Jobberman Nigeria and the Mastercard Foundation to strengthen employment systems and shape the future of work in Nigeria.
