CIG Motors, through its brands GAC (Made for More), Wuling (Made for People), and JMC (Built to Last) boosted the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival and the Argungu Motor Rally 2026, with 11 vehicles, and an international documentary team to capture the route and the culture that define Argungu.

Diana Chen, chairman of the group, was present at the official flag off ceremony in Abuja, alongside top Nigerian government officials, led by Abubakar Bagudu, minister of Budget and Economic Planning and former Governor of Kebbi State.

Argungu stands as one of Nigeria’s oldest cultural traditions, and we are proud to be part of what it represents.”

The rally journey travels key cities and states on the route from Abuja through Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, and onward to Argungu, building momentum ahead of the festival and demonstrating vehicle capability across real intercity conditions.

Diana Chen congratulated Nasir Idris, governor of Kebbi State, on sustaining and elevating Argungu as a national cultural institution. She also commended Umar Tafida, deputy governor of Kebbi State and chairman of the festival’s central planning committee on continuing the tradition of hosting and strengthening the festival and motor rally as platforms of national pride and cultural continuity.

Diana further welcomed President Bola Tinubu, describing his attendance as a national honour and a powerful affirmation of the importance of culture, unity, and local enterprise in Nigeria’s national story.
