Ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, Julius Adamu, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Bwari Area Council, has withdrawn from the race and thrown his support behind Ishaku Musa, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Joshua.
Adamu made the announcement less than 72 hours before the elections, citing consultations with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, as the basis for his decision.
“I have come to the conclusion, after deep discussions with Minister Wike, that Joshua and I are like brothers. It would not be right for two brothers to fight over one office,” Adamu said. “I am stepping aside and urging all my supporters to vote for Joshua to ensure his victory.”

Minister Wike, speaking at the event, encouraged Bwari residents to back Musa, promising development in the area. “If you vote for Joshua, I will deliver more roads and infrastructure for Bwari. Make sure Joshua wins this election on Saturday,” he said.
The last-minute political realignment is expected to significantly impact the outcome of the Bwari Area Council polls.
