Tetracore Energy Group (TEG), through its subsidiary Tetracore CNG Solution Limited, has commissioned a 60,000 Standard Cubic Metres per Day (SCMD) Auto Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facility in Ogere, Ogun State.
The event drew traditional rulers, community representatives, industry partners and invited guests. The project adds to Nigeria’s gas infrastructure and supports the use of compressed natural gas for transport and industrial activities.
Located along the Lagos–Ibadan industrial corridor, the facility is positioned to serve commercial transport operators, logistics companies, manufacturers and other businesses in Ogun State and neighbouring areas. The company said the station will provide a gas supply option for vehicles and industrial users seeking alternatives to petrol and diesel.
With an installed capacity of 60,000 SCMD, the station can fuel more than 100 vehicles per day. It is expected to serve buses, trucks and other CNG-powered vehicles operating along the busy corridor. TEG said the project aligns with Federal Government plans to increase domestic gas utilisation, reduce reliance on conventional fuels and promote energy transition within the transport and industrial sectors.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of Tetracore Energy Group described the development as part of the company’s long-term investment in infrastructure and host communities.
He said, “The commissioning of this Auto CNG facility represents our unwavering commitment to delivering practical energy solutions that power businesses, lower transportation costs, and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security. This is not just a fueling station; it is critical infrastructure that supports cleaner mobility, industrial productivity, and long-term economic growth. At Tetracore Energy Group, we are proud to be playing a leading role in driving the nation’s transition to sustainable energy.”
Community leaders welcomed the project and acknowledged its expected impact on Ogere.
His Royal Highness Oba James Obafemi Saliu (Kankanbiina II), the Ologere of Ogere, said the investment marks a new phase for the town. He stated, “This project brings development, employment, and opportunity to our people. We are pleased that Tetracore Energy Group has chosen Ogere as the home of this important clean energy initiative, and we look forward to the lasting benefits it will bring to our community.”
Elder Anthony Oyegunle, a community leader, also spoke at the event. He said, “Beyond providing energy, this facility creates real opportunities for our youth and small businesses. It will generate jobs, stimulate commerce, and contribute to the overall growth of Ogere. We are proud to partner with an organization that prioritizes both development and community welfare.”
Other traditional leaders sent goodwill messages in support of the project. They included High Chief Dr Adeyiga Ositelu, the Olisu of Ogere; High Chief Muritadeen Ajadi, the Oluwo of Ogere; and High Chief Segun Adeniyi, the Asiwaju of Ogere. They noted the economic and environmental relevance of expanding gas infrastructure within the community.
According to the company, the facility was designed with safety systems that include gas detection and monitoring technology, automated emergency shutdown mechanisms, fire suppression systems and high-pressure protection equipment. These systems are managed by trained personnel and operate in line with national and international standards.
TEG said the project will create direct employment in plant operations, engineering and administration. It is also expected to generate indirect jobs in logistics, maintenance, supply services and other local businesses linked to the plant’s operations.
The Ogere Auto CNG facility forms part of Tetracore Energy Group’s plan to expand its gas distribution network across the country. The company’s portfolio includes compressed natural gas, piped natural gas, liquefied natural gas and gas-to-power solutions for industrial and commercial users.
Nigeria has increased its focus on gas as a transition fuel, particularly in transport, where rising fuel costs have led many operators to consider alternatives. Projects such as the Ogere facility reflect efforts by private sector players to invest in infrastructure that supports this shift.
For residents of Ogere, the commissioning represents more than the opening of a gas station. It signals new activity within the town and closer links to industrial operations along the Lagos–Ibadan corridor. For Tetracore Energy Group, it marks another step in its strategy to support energy supply, industrial output and job creation through gas development initiatives.
