The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes with the arrest of three suspected kidnappers during a coordinated intelligence-led operation in Fufore Local Government Area.
The operation followed a recent kidnapping incident involving the abduction of Ahmadu at Malabu on January 30, 2026. Acting on credible intelligence and in line with the directive of Morris Dankombo, the Commissioner of Police, to intensify action against criminal elements, Police operatives carried out a joint operation in collaboration with members of the Miyetti-Allah security group.
The coordinated raid was conducted at a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Jera Village, Malabu District of Fufore LGA, where three suspects were arrested. They were identified as Lawali Haruna (45), Yahaya Ibrahim (25), and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu (28), all residents of Jera Village.
During the investigations one of the suspects was found to be the biological son of the kidnapped victim. The Police confirmed that all three suspects had confessed to their involvement in the crime.
Efforts are currently ongoing to rescue the victim unhurt and to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who are still at large. The arrested suspects remain in Police custody while investigations continue.
Commending the effective collaboration between the Police and local security stakeholders, the Commissioner of Police reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State.
He further appealed to members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with timely and credible information.
The Police Command stated that further developments would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
