Besides the recent launching of a 5-day sales fare from Lagos to London from $US255 excluding taxes, Virgin Atlantic furthered the celebration of Nigeria’s 55 Independence Anniversary by offering all passengers departing for London on VS652 on October 1, 2015 a £10 preloaded Oyster travel card. Irrespective of the cabin, the passengers travelling on October 1, 2015 received the travel card at the boarding gate. The preloaded travel card takes away the ground transport challenge passengers would ordinarily go through on arriving at Heathrow Airport in London.
As well, passengers that arrived Lagos from Heathrow on October 1, 2015 were not left out. They were treated to free trolleys service at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja on arrival.
Oyster is a smartcard, which can hold pay as you go credit, Travel card and Bus & Tram Pass season tickets. It enables passengers to travel on bus, tube, tram, DLR, London Over ground, TfL Rail and most National Rail services in London.
Speaking on the development, Kudirat Igbene, marketing manager, Virgin Atlantic said, “Virgin Atlantic is famous for making memories, for going the extra mile and creating an experience our passengers love. After 14 years flying the Lagos – London route we remain committed to servicing the Nigerian people, whether it be for business, family or education”.
Virgin Atlantic flies to over 30 destinations across the US, UK, Africa; Middle East, India and Asia.
