Anthony Crolla, former WBA champion, is pushing for the highly anticipated “Battle of Britain” between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to take place in the United Kingdom.
The long-discussed heavyweight clash was on course for a September showdown before Joshua was involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria last December, an incident that claimed the lives of two of his close friends.

Joshua’s fighting future remains uncertain, with the former two-time unified heavyweight champion having spoken publicly only about the tragic passing of Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Joshua’s return, Crolla believes any potential fight between Fury and Joshua should be staged on home soil.

He argues that a contest between two of Britain’s greatest heavyweights deserves a British crowd and should not be taken overseas purely for financial reasons.
Crolla named Old Trafford and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as ideal venues, acknowledging that Saudi Arabia offers world-class production and significant financial rewards.
However, he stressed that this particular bout carries greater national importance, adding that the legacy and atmosphere of a UK stadium would outweigh any monetary incentive elsewhere.
Speaking to The Sun, Crolla said he would be disappointed if the fight were held in Saudi Arabia.
While conceding he has worked on shows there and witnessed the high production standards, he maintained that a Fury–Joshua fight belongs in Britain and should be staged at an iconic outdoor stadium.
As the wait for Joshua continues, Tyson Fury has already made his plans clear. The “Gypsy King” is set to return from a brief retirement to face Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.
