Super Eagles and Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka is set to complete a loan move to English Championship leaders Coventry City ahead of transfer deadline day.
The 28-year-old Nigerian international has pushed for an exit this month after struggling for regular game time at Brentford, where he has made just nine appearances across all competitions this season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Coventry City and Brentford have reached an agreement for Onyeka to join the Sky Blues on loan until the end of the campaign, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
Onyeka’s involvement at Brentford has been limited, managing only 88 minutes of Premier League action and starting just once under interim manager Keith Andrews.
Coventry, who sit top of the Championship table with 58 points, moved decisively to beat off competition from Valencia and Sheffield United to secure the midfielder’s signature.
The energetic defensive midfielder could make his Coventry City debut as early as Wednesday, when the Sky Blues face Oxford United.
