Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has said that his administration will undertake the reform of the state legal system.

The government also assures of his determination to continue to lend support to the development, enthronement and quick dispensation of justice, in what he believes will encourage an orderly society where every citizen feels a sense of belonging.

Ambode spoke during a church service to commemorate the beginning of 2015/2016 legal year held at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, on Sunday, saying the synergy of the executive and judicial arms of government was key to the success of any administration.

“I sincerely congratulate you on the beginning of another legal year. Let me say that both the executive and the judiciary are partners in progress, and I wish to restate my commitment to always support the judiciary,” he said.

Adebola Ademowo, the diocesan bishop of Lagos Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), acknowledged Ambode as the first governor to personally grace the commemoration of the beginning of a new legal year since inception.

The bishop prayed for peace in the state, expressing optimism that Lagos will witness development under Ambode.
