Grand Petroleum makers of Hi-Speed range of lubricants in a move to encourage users of Hi Speed lubricants have unveiled plans to reward its loyal customers.

Speaking at a press briefing, Joseph Oboko, Chief Operating Officer, Grand Petroleum said the Loyalty Promo is to reward users of Hi-Speed lubricants and also to drive lubricant markets across the nation.

Oboko lamented that the importation of substandard lubricants to the country could lead to the death of local producers in the lubricants sector.

According to him, “Most of the imported lubricants in the market are not certified by Standard Oganisation of Nigeria (SON), and are responsible for the high rate of engine failure in the automotive industry.”

Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, Nosak Group, Osagie Ogunbor,

called on government to tackle the influx of substandard imported lubricants into the country, saying the development was taking a negative toll on the operations of local manufacturers, who have invested fortunes to create jobs and develop the economy.

He advised government to increase tariff on imported lubricants in order to discourage importation of lubricants, lamenting that laboratory analysis carried out on the imported products revealed that they fall short of the minimum prescribed grade and standard for vehicle use.

The development according to him, has led to the breakdown of several motor engines as a result of the use of substandard engine oil for car and engine routine maintenance, thereby robbing off consumer value for money.

On the Loyalty Promo, Oboko said it will run for three months and prizes will be awarded at a grand ceremony to be held in December 11.

“Customers can purchase products from any of our official distributors’ outlets in Lagos. Our 1st prize is a 6.9kva generator for cumulative purchase of a minimum of 3,000 cartons between September and November. For the 2nd prize, a cumulative purchase of between 1,500 and 2,999 cartons between September and November attracts a 2.5kwa generator while the 3rd prize is subject to a cumulative purchase of between 1,000 and 1,499 cartons for a 1.5kva generator for the same period,” Oboko said.

There are lots of free gifts for products (4 litres and 1 litre) purchased during the time of the promo.
