United Capital PLC has appointed four independent infrastructure investment experts to the Investment Committee of its United Capital Infrastructure Fund (UCIF), as the Nigerian investment firm positions to tap growing infrastructure opportunities in Nigeria and across Africa.

The appointments, which have received ratification and clearance from Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission, add De Buys Scott as chairman of the committee, alongside Olubunmi Akinremi, Bola Bamidele and Obinna Ufudo as independent members.

UCIF, which invests across power, industrial recycling and renewable energy, has delivered a year-to-date gross return of 24.62%, United Capital said in a notice.

“These appointments were made to further deepen the Fund’s governance and ensure that UCIF continues to drive sustainable impact through its investments,” Peter Ashade, group chief executive officer said in a statement.

He added that the new committee members are expected to support sustainable growth while delivering consistent value to investors.

The new appointees bring decades of experience spanning infrastructure development, investment management and multinational operations, reinforcing the fund’s governance and strategic oversight as it scales investments across the continent.

They join existing Investment Committee members Odiri Oginni, UcheNna Mkparu and Adeyinka Jafojo. However, Samuel Nwanze  has exited the committee following the completion of his tenure.

UcheNna Mkparu, chief investment officer and Fund Manager at UCIF, said:“We are delighted to welcome the new members to the Investment Committee and would be counting on their track record, wealth of experience across multiple jurisdictions and impeccable professional reputations to steer UCIF’s strategic direction as we scale investments that deliver competitive returns across Nigeria and Africa.”
