Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria, the country’s foremost civic movement and one of Africa’s leading voices for democratic accountability, will commemorate its 15th anniversary with a landmark event on December 10, 2025, in Lagos. Themed “Footprints & Frontlines,” the celebration will honour fifteen years of citizen-led activism, innovation, and advocacy that have reshaped Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
The anniversary event will feature Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, as the keynote speaker. It will be co-hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, renowned media personality, and Ayo Mairo-Ese, a respected Arise News anchor. The gathering will bring together civic leaders, policymakers, youth activists, and changemakers for a reflective yet forward-looking dialogue on Nigeria’s democratic future.
At the heart of the celebration is the premiere of a documentary film chronicling EiE Nigeria’s fifteen-year journey from mobilising young voters and driving policy advocacy to amplifying citizen voices across digital and traditional platforms. The film captures the organisation’s evolution from a small movement of frustrated citizens to a national force for transparency, accountability, and civic participation.
Founded in 2010, EiE Nigeria emerged at a time of growing public disillusionment with governance. Its groundbreaking #RSVP (Register, Select, Vote, Protect) campaign redefined voter education and participation, inspiring millions of Nigerians especially young people to see voting as a tool for change. The movement’s #OfficeOfTheCitizen platform further revolutionised civic education, positioning citizens as the ultimate stakeholders in governance.
Over the years, EiE has become synonymous with fearless advocacy. From its prominent role during the #EndSARS protests to sustained campaigns for electoral reform, constitutional accountability, and government transparency, the organisation has consistently amplified citizens’ voices and reminded power of its responsibility to serve.
According to Opeyemi Adamolekun, EiE’s founding Executive Director, the 15th anniversary is both a celebration and a recommitment to the organisation’s founding ideals.
“EiE’s story is proof that a small group of committed citizens can reawaken a nation’s conscience,” Adamolekun said. “For fifteen years, we have turned civic frustration into civic action demanding better, insisting on truth, and showing that democracy only works when citizens do. As we enter this next chapter, our mission remains unchanged: to keep the flame of accountability burning and remind every Nigerian that leadership begins with citizenship.”
The theme “Footprints & Frontlines” embodies the dual essence of EiE’s journey reflection and momentum. “Footprints” represent the lasting impact of its initiatives across communities, airwaves, and digital spaces. “Frontlines” point to the ongoing work of nation-building in classrooms, courtrooms, marketplaces, studios, and online spaces where Nigerians continue to push for progress through integrity, creativity, and service.
As EiE Nigeria celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its vision of an engaged citizenry that holds leaders accountable and builds a more transparent, inclusive, and participatory democracy for generations to come.
