Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of wellness, has been spotlighted as a sustainable path to healthier, longer, and more balanced lives for Nigerians. This was the central message at the 10th International Ayurveda Day, hosted by the Consulate General of India in Lagos in partnership with Dabur, one of the world’s leading natural wellness companies.

Themed “Ayurveda for People and Planet,” the event highlighted how adopting Ayurveda’s holistic practices could help Nigerians make better daily health choices while easing pressure on the environment.

“Ayurveda is the science of life gifted by nature to all of humanity. It prevents illness when you are healthy and helps you recover when you are sick. Nigerians can benefit greatly from this holistic approach,” said Chandramouli Kumar Khan, Consul General of India in Lagos.

Khan emphasized the need for standardization and scientific validation to build trust:

“People will trust Ayurveda more when its medicines are measured, regulated, and clinically tried. That is why India is ready to support Nigeria in developing training and research programs.”

Dabur Launches Herbal Activated Charcoal Toothpaste

At the event, Dabur West Africa unveiled its Herbal Activated Charcoal Toothpaste, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to safe, effective, and herbal oral care.

“Rooted in Ayurveda, our strategy and products continue to focus on nature-inspired solutions that meet evolving consumer needs,” said Karuppiahsamy Suresh, Business Head, Dabur West Africa. “Nigerian consumers are increasingly seeking safe, natural, and effective personal care products. Our new product offers deep cleansing with the assurance of over a century of expertise. Dabur remains dedicated to being a partner in health and wellness.”

Explaining what makes the new toothpaste unique, Suresh added:

“Unlike single-ingredient charcoal products, our formula combines the whitening power of activated charcoal with trusted herbal extracts for complete oral care. With Dabur’s 140-year heritage and global presence in over 100 countries, Nigerians can trust our products to deliver quality, safety, and efficacy.”

A Shared Path for Forward

With the dual focus on Ayurveda and Dabur’s product innovation, the event underscored a shared commitment to holistic wellness, sustainable living, and consumer health.

As Ayurveda champions the balance of people and planet, Dabur’s launch of its Herbal Activated Charcoal Toothpaste represents another step in making nature-inspired oral care accessible to Nigerians nationwide.
