The developers and Managers of the Lekki Free Zone project, the Lekki Free Zone Development Company on Tuesday 28th July, 2015 signed a fifty-million dollar investment agreement with the foremost Steel Pipe Manufacturer in China, Jiangsu-Yulong Steel Pipe Company Limited to set up the largest Steel Pipe Mill in the Lekki Free Zone.
The Steel Pipe Mill which is set to be completed by middle of 2016 upon completion will be the largest heavy industry in Nigeria and a leading Steel Pipe manufacturer.
The project production volume is estimated at about 400,000 tonnes per annum with an annual sales projection of about $480 million.
The project upon commencement of operations will generate employment for over 1,000 people and will enhance modern technology transfer by training indigenous engineers in the steel fabrication business.
Jiangsu Yulong Steel Pipe Co. Limited is the largest and one of the fastest growing Steel Pipe Manufacturers in China with 22 Sets of Steel processing and Pipe Manufacturing units.
After 35 years in the industry, the Company employs around 3000 people and has an annual production capacity exceeding 2.1 million tonnes of Steel Pipes and Tubes and 5.5 million square meters of coating.
It has established two subsidiaries in Yili, Xingjiang Province and in Deyang, Sichuan Province, connecting the Eastern and Western part of the Country
Jiangsu-Yulong Steel Pipe Company was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in November, 2011 and has now developed into a welding pipe production base, which mainly produces wide range of Pipe specifications for the Oil & Gas Companies.
The List of Products include; Helical Submerged Arc Welded Pipe (SAWH), Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded Pipe (SAWL), High Frequency Longitudinal Resistance Welded Pipe (HFW), Square and Rectangular Steel and 3PE anticorrosive pipe.
