The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unanimously endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election, while also throwing its weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Adeleke made the announcement on Tuesday via a post on his official X handle, following a meeting with the Osun PDP Leadership Caucus in Osogbo. The meeting, he said, came after weeks of consultations with stakeholders across the state, including traditional rulers, civil servants, market leaders, and grassroots party members.
“I remain in the PDP, the party that gave me the platform to serve the good people of Osun,” Adeleke stated. “I have been unanimously endorsed by the Osun PDP for a second term in 2026.”
In a move that may raise eyebrows within the national structure of the opposition PDP, the Osun chapter also endorsed Tinubu, of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), for re-election, describing him as “a proud son of our state.”
“Our party in Osun has also endorsed President @officialABAT for re-election in 2027, recognizing him as a proud son of our state,” the PDP governor announced.
“PDP remains the most popular and trusted party across Osun State,” Adeleke asserted, reaffirming his commitment to the party and the state.
He also pledged continued dedication to his administration’s Five-Point Agenda, promising renewed focus and delivery.
“The love and support from the people of Osun continues to inspire me. Together, we move forward,” he added.
