Though a leading energy and infrastructure C-level professional, Rolake is currently Chief Commercial Officer at pan-African infrastructure developer, Mixta Africa, with a presence in 5 African countries.

She has built a solid track-record as one of Africa’s leading female voices and thinkers in energy, oil & gas, renewables & infrastructure. She is a strategic and adaptable leader with more than 15 years’ experience of helping to finance, invest in and successfully scale businesses in Africa. Through a diverse career path that has now cut across consulting, research, investment banking and development finance, she has proven to be an agile and versatile leader, with strong people, negotiation, emotional intelligence and effective communication skills

Akinkugbe-Filani is commercially astute, and adept at building lasting and valuable relationships and partnerships with private and public stakeholders. She is well-versed in mobilising resources, relationships, and strategic market insights to support corporate-decision makers on the African continent.

She consulted on business and expansion opportunities for investors from North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia across a range of sectors and across multiple business landscapes in Africa.

Rolake is fluent in French, widely traveled, covered and advised on business in more than 30 African countries, having also lived and worked in the UK, Belgium, Senegal and Nigeria. She possesses excellent understanding of the pan-African business and investment terrain.

Also, Rolake is a speaker and thought-leader who is able to distill complex economic, business, energy and infrastructure topics, in a simple, clear and concise manner.

Akinkugbe-Filani served in advisory capacity (2017 -2019) with Economic Advisory Board in the Office of the Vice President, working with the Chief Economic Adviser to the President, on a range of policy issues.

She was listed among top 275 Global Female Influencer Executives (2020) in Energy by UK Women’s Energy Council; Laureate, Class of 2017, 2018 & 2019 Choiseul 200 Young Economic Leaders in Africa under 40; Received Best Africa Oil & Gas Analyst Award (2015) from Energy & Corporate Africa (US); MIPAD Top 100 2018 Business & Entrepreneurship and recipient of the 2017 Jane M. Klausman Women In Business Scholarship from Zonta International. She is a certified expert in climate and renewable energy finance.

As CCO at MIxta Africa, she is driving development and execution of a commercialisation strategy and oversight responsibility for revenue growth within the organisation, by taking a global perspective on market opportunities, and leading in the assessment and prioritisation of geographic segments across Mixta’s current footprint in Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Senegal and Morocco, as well as new markets.

Other responsibilities include developing a strategy and providing leadership for enterprise-wide business development opportunities, while originating and managing business development opportunities that are consistent with the company’s strategy for revenue growth.
