Olusola Sowemimo: Partner at Seyi Sowemimo & Co/ Founder at Ope Farm

Olusola is a trained lawyer who has spent the last ten years in Human Resource in Nigeria LNG Limited. Also a certified Etiquette Practitioner from the prestigious Minding Manners International Etiquette and Protocol Academy of London. A Faculty Member of School of Eloquence.

Little wonder she always looks forward to the end of every month for the training she and her team conducts for people who come to learn how to speak at the School of Eloquence. Meeting people, learning the reason why they have come to the school for their Masterclasses or private coaching is what Olusola describes as priceless.

Sowemimo had broad and varied experience spanning 26 years in top-tier Oil and Gas (NLNG is currently the largest natural resource project in Africa with a capital investment to date of $12 billion) and Legal sectors of the economy at supervisory and managerial positions; consistently delivering significant results.

Leveraging on the above background, expertise covers in-depth- knowledge of human resources management, contract and procurement administration, business logistics support, health, safety, environment and sustainable development, etiquette, services and legal management.

Positions held have required to various degrees her ability to lead multi-disciplinary and diverse teams, develop and train staff to attain pacesetting etiquette and communication levels, drive the implementation of a world class leadership organisation culture in the company, developed and implemented company’s coaching and mentoring initiative, delivered on shareholder’s value and participate actively in strategic management committees.

Others include leveraging on Information Communication Technology; particularly business, maintaining proactive employee relations process and above all else, institutionalise the value of etiquette and mannerism in the work place.

Her strong passion for a healthy lifestyle has created another entrepreneurial engagement for her to become an organic farmer, in respect of which she founded a currently certified organic farm that is quickly gaining a high reputation named Ope Farms. At Ope Farms, they grow vegetables and raise livestock naturally without drugs and antibiotics. They do contract farming for discerning customers who prefer produce with no chemical residues.

They raise their poultry birds on commercial feed, plants and vegetables. They have a snail farm and an Apiary. Also, they have trained over 300+ beneficiaries on organic farming and facilitated a Training of the Trainers of Trainers (ToTo) as Master Trainer for the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture for West Africa, which was organised by IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement) and co-organized by NOAN (Association of Organic Practitioners of Nigeria)
