Niger state leads as police receive 242, 455 application for recruitment 7 days to go

With 7 days left to the close of the recruitment portal for the 2019 Police Constable recruitment, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has received a total of 242, 455 applications as at 1 pm, 2nd January, 2019.

A statement issued on Thursday by the Acting Head of Press and Public Relations of the commission, Aaron Kaase, said that Niger State so far has the highest number of applicants at 15, 633 followed by Kano State with 15, 079 while Katsina State is third with 14, 582. Others are Kaduna with 13, 882, Bauchi 5th with 12, 652 and Adamawa 6thwith 11, 449 applicants.

Bayelsa State has the lowest number of applicants at 1, 258, followed by Lagos State with 1, 358, Anambra State 1, 618 and Ebonyi State 1, 659.

A summary of the applications shows that 212, 716 applicants are males and 29, 694 females. Benue State has the highest number of female applicants at 2,251 followed by Akwa Ibom State with 1, 772 and Osun is third with 1, 721. Zamfara State has the lowest number of female applicants with 27 followed by Jigawa 33, while Sokoto has 34.

The Chairman of the Commission, Musiliu Smith IGP (Rtd.) has reiterated that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure a merit based recruitment exercise and warned applicants that the exercise is absolutely free, so any applicant who pays for assistance will be prosecuted alongside the receiver, if caught,” the statement said.
