Lagos water corporation MD lauds staff commitment amid ongoing restructuring

The Managing Director of the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani has commended the staff of the corporation for their dedication and commitment towards the smooth running of the ongoing restructuring exercise geared towards improved service delivery and bringing back the lost glory of the Corporation.

He stated this while briefing journalists and the management of the corporation on the recent restructuring being experienced in the corporation on Thursday.

He described the process as inevitable and continuous for positive results.

Earlier, the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the LWC, Mrs Kehinde Fashola, while speaking with a BusinessDay correspondent, assured residents of the state that work is ongoing to ensure adequate water supply to all Lagosians.

Tijani said, “We intend to run a result driven and commercial focused system. We hope to bring a new culture of improved efficiency and bring everyone on board for improved service delivery.”

While noting that the Lagos urban water sanitation and hygiene is supporting the water sector in various activities which include the rehabilitation of some micro/mini water works to close the water demand gap, he urged the staff of the LWC to be more committed towards its transformation process.

He urged the staff to cooperate with him for the uplift and better quality service of the corporation.

In her reaction, the LWC Executive Director, Operations, Engr. (Mrs.) Omolanke Taiwo noted that the initiative was necessary for the betterment of the corporation, saying, “It is the best we can do for a better LWC.”
