Airline operators pledge support for NCAA acting DG

In a recent development, members of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) have expressed their admiration for the new leadership of the Nigeria Civil Aviation (NCAA), led by Chris Najomo as the Acting Director General, while also seeking the support of industry stakeholders.

Najomo has been actively engaging with stakeholders from various sectors of the industry, and the AON, representing indigenous airlines in Nigeria, recently met with the DG in Abuja.

During these interactions, Najomo assured stakeholders of his commitment to foster collaboration in addressing the challenges facing the industry. He also pledged to create a more favourable and conducive operating environment to enhance the operations of domestic carriers.

Based on the positive outcomes of these meetings, the airlines are relieved and optimistic that a new era has dawned in the industry. They have resolved to support the Najomo-led NCAA in the arduous task of building upon the industry’s achievements.

One airline executive, who attended the stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, shared his personal experience with Najomo as an airline CEO, praising his dedication to service delivery. The executive narrated an incident where Najomo swiftly resolved an issue regarding document processing, demonstrating his responsiveness and efficiency.

The executive emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy among all stakeholders for the industry’s growth. He called on all stakeholders, including airline executives, service providers, ground handlers, and others committed to the industry’s development, to rally behind Najomo.

Highlighting Najomo’s extensive experience in the aviation industry, the executive expressed confidence that with collaboration, the industry can achieve great heights and propel Nigerian aviation to new levels of success.

Chris Ona Najomo is a highly experienced pilot with over 40 years of experience. He has received training from various institutions and conducted courses both domestically and internationally. His career includes roles as Air Traffic Control Assistant, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority Designated Examiner, Director of Flight Operations, and Training Captain/Simulator Instructor.

Najomo’s qualifications and accomplishments have earned him recognition and awards, including the prestigious title of Best Pilot of the Year by NCAA. Prior to his appointment as Acting DG of NCAA, he served as the Chief Pilot for Arik Air and later as the Director of Air Transport Regulation (DATR) at the NCAA.
