NADDC assures of timely completion of emission testing centre

Joseph Osanipin, director general of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), has assured of the timely completion of its vehicle emission testing and automotive training centre in Ikorodu.

Osanipin disclosed this during a recent assessment visit to the centre situated at the Lagos State University for Science and Technology, Ikorodu.

The Test Centre upon completion would become an avenue for Nigeria to control carbon emissions while the Automotive Training Centre is aimed at training Nigerians on Mechatronics and other automotive-related skills.

Accompanied by Olumuyiwo Omotola Odusanya, vice chancellor of the University to the facilities, Osanipin expressed the council’s readiness to partner with the University to put both centres to optimal use.

Osanipin further said the Council would also partner with the state government and other stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of the projects.

“The equipment we have here will put the students and the trainees on the same level as their counterparts across the globe; we will also take this Emission centre as a priority project and make sure we put it into use. It will be a disservice to the nation if a facility like this is abandoned,” he said.
