Indications have emerged that a coalition of mothers plans to march in protest against police brutality in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos State.
A circular seen by BusinessDay is rallying the women to gather at the National Stadium Surulere on Saturday.

“We cannot sit back and watch them kill our children. We demand justice for one of our own Ademola Ojabode’s mum who was assaulted by the NPF (Nigeria Police Force),” the circular read.
Protests have continued across the country despite assurances by the authorities that a new era of police reforms has kicked off. The government has disbanded the notorious rogue police unit known as Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and announced a replacement.
The protesters however are demanding compensation for all victims of the rogue police and people that were brutalised during the #ENDSARS protest. They are also asking for improved welfare for Nigeria police officers which would help reduce the motivation for inspiration.
