Bureau of Foreign Trade Taiwan, others to host plastic, rubber machinery summit

The global production of plastic products continues to rise due to increased demand for automobiles and consumer electronics, medical treatment, packaging, and construction, thus driving the demand for plastic and rubber machinery.

To help international plastic and rubber manufacturers face the future growth in plastic production demand, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) Taiwan, R.O.C, and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) are set to host a virtual plastic and rubber machinery summit.

The summit with the theme ‘Taiwan Excellence Plastic & Rubber Machinery’ is scheduled to hold on September 17, 2020.

Taiwan’s plastics and rubber machinery are internationally renowned and, according to the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), its exports rank sixth in the world making it a global leader in related industries.

It’s plastic and rubber machinery industry has been developing for more than 50 years with a complete industrial cluster and is known for its sophisticated technology and high-quality after-sales service.

Currently, there are about 400 plastic and rubber machinery manufacturers in Taiwan.

In response to the trend of Industry 4.0, Taiwan’s plastic and rubber machinery industry combines Taiwan’s strong ICT strength, AIoT, intelligent automation, intelligent sensors, and advanced manufacturing technologies to build ‘smart, high-end, custom-made’ production solutions, making it an indispensable part of the plastic & rubber global supply chain.

Although COVID-19 severely disrupted economic activities and production planning in the first half of the year, but the pandemic has been ebbing, with countries gradually lifting lockdowns and people resuming to work, which is expected to increase machinery demand.

Four leading Taiwanese plastic & rubber machinery companies including Fu Chun Shin Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd. (FCS), ChumPower Machinery Corp., Fong Kee International Machinery Co., Ltd., and Diing Kuen Plastic Machinery Co. Limited will present the latest trends and the newest technology, from injection molding machines and blow molding machines to extrusion machinery to buyers and media worldwide.
