Edo 2020: ADC Candidate promises to harness CBN, World Bank Loans to boost Agriculture

The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, Mabel Oboh said she would make use of loans and grants from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), World Bank and United Nations to boost the state’s agricultural potential.

Oboh, who made the promise during the flag off of her governorship campaign in Benin, noted that the partnership with the nation’s apex bank, world bank and United Nations will help to address unemployment and youth restiveness in the state.

While expressing dissatisfaction over the rising unemployment rate in the State and Nigeria at large, she added that the party is committed to creating jobs through investment in skill acquisition, agriculture and technical education.

“We have a lot of things we want to do but the main strategy which we are going to start up with, is agriculture. Edo State is a fertile land and it is known as agricultural land from time immemorial but the only difference now is that, we are going to change it. We are going to get people into food processing and construction of Greenhouses.

“To achieve the objective of creating jobs, the ADC government would collaborate with financial institutions to fund agricultural sector which will go a long way to engage youths and reduce unemployment in the State.

Oboh added that as a standard bearer of the party, she would ensure Edo people feel the wave of positive change when elected as governor.

The ADC governorship candidate, said she joined the party because of its ideology which is anchored on the driving force of transforming Nigeria.
