2019 Elections: Buhari meets security Chiefs

Ahead of the Saturday rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections, President Muhammadu Buhari is on this Tuesday meeting with top security Chiefs.

The meeting coming on the heels of the President orders to the security operatives to ensure that ballot box snatchers don’t escape with their actions on Saturday, is expected to reinforce that directives with possible stronger directives to deal ruthlessly with those who might cause trouble on Election Day.

All the Service Chiefs are attending the meeting which is expected to come up with far reaching decisions on how to ensure free, fair and hitch free elections.

BusinessDay gathered that traditionally, such meetings is used to evaluate security agencies preparedness, including securing election materials, results sheets that are transmitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s collation centers and the Presidential Election Collation and results announcement center in Abuja.
