A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo state, Babatunde Oreitan was on Wednesday killed by unknown gunmen.
Oreitan who is one of the leaders of the broom party in Ona Ara local government, was said to have been killed by the gunmen Wednesday afternoon in his house located at Oremeji Agugu area of Ibadan.
It was gathered that he was murdered after prayers in a mosque located in his house.

Efforts to get the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command to confirm the incident, Olugbenga Fadeyi proved abortive as calls put through his telephone line were not successful.
But, Deputy National Youth leader of the party, Afeez Mobolaji Repete confirmed the killing in a post.
The youth leader, a former Special Adviser to former Governor of the state on Youths and Students Matters, described the deceased as a devout Muslim.
According to him, the leader of APC in Ona Ara LG, Babatunde Oreitan is murdered ,you were a principled politician, a devoted muslim and a political leader.
He further wrote in the post “those that killed you will never have peace. Rest in peace Baba Gbemisola, Baba Lateef”.
