Richard Nyong, real estate expert, to receive national honour

Richard Nyong, founder and CEO of Lekki Gardens Estate, has been shortlisted for a national honour with the rank of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in recognition of his outstanding meritorious acts of service in the real estate sector.

Instituted by the National Honours Act No. 5 of 1964 to recognise Nigerians, who have rendered services to the benefit of the nation, the OON has been awarded to over 70 recipients across different industries in Nigeria.

The investiture ceremony of Richard Nyong is slated for Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Abuja, it will provide the Federal Government with the opportunity to recognise other distinguished Nigerians making giant strides and leaving an indelible mark on the sands of time.

For years, Nyong has been investing in not just building houses, but reshaping the landscape of real estate in West Africa.

With over 15,000 units of homes constructed, over 200 investors made millionaires, and over N2 trillion in assets managed, Lekki Gardens Estates under Nyong’s visionary leadership, has built an exclusive portfolio of home types that have satisfied Nigerians of different classes and tastes.

Described as young, charismatic, and courageous, Nyong has made strategic contributions to national development which earned him the title, ‘The Indisputable King of Nigeria’s Real Estate Industry.

Before now, Nyong has been a recipient of several other awards. He was named the Property Developer for the year in 2014 by the Institute for Government, Research Leadership and Technology; Real Estate Person of the year in 2014 by the leadership of Real Estate Unite Lagos, and the Property Developer of the year award also in 2014 by the City People Magazine.

The national honour will add another feather to Richard Nyong’s cap and list of accomplishments.
