Oyo LG Crisis: NULGE order workers to resume work on Wednesday

Oyo State chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE),on Tuesday, called off its sit-at-home order and asked members to resume work on Wednesday.

The union had  few weeks ago ordered its members to remain at home following  the crisis that rocked local government administration in the state

The chairmen elected during the regime of the immediate past governor Abiola Ajimobi had lock horns with the present administration over the appointment of caretaker chairmen for the councils

As a result of the crisis Oyo NULGE, ordered its members to stay away from the local government offices across the state pending the time issue will be resolved.

However, the union on Tuesday, directed its members to resume work with immediate effect.

NULGE Secretary in Oyo State, Chucks Nwankwo in a statement ordered immediate resumption of workers of all LGs and LCDAs on Wednesday.

The union in a meeting presided over by the Chairman, Bayo Titilola-Bayo at the Union Secretariat, Challenge, Ibadan said “I wish to inform you that the on going STAY AWAY FROM WORK has been suspended today 18th February, 2020 as agreed at the SEC meeting.

“To this development, all workers are enjoined to kindly go back to their various offices as from tomorrow 19th February, 2020,” he said
