Oyo govt secures land tenure for Oluyole communities

The Oyo State Government has commenced regularization of title documents for several communities within the Oluyole Local Government area and also granting them status of state government tenants.
During a meeting with residents from Baare, Ojo Ekun, Odo-Ona Kekere, Aboke, Alawo, Ajao, and Asaka communities etc, Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Williams Akin Fumilayo, said that well-established villages, which predate the government’s acquisition in 2006, will now enjoy a new level of security and recognition.
The Commissioner clarified that the regularization process is a strategic decision to ease the communities of acquisition constraints, as they are not situated on lands earmarked for State development. He assured residents that no demolitions were planned. Instead, town planners will conduct site inspections to provide building plan guidance where necessary.
Also, Williams Akin Funmilayo stated that residents would be subjected to payment of statutory fees into the State’s coffers following property enumeration and the calculation of the Land Use Charge, ensuring that the financial impact on the occupants shall be minimal.
While responding, one of the community members,  Azeez Abideen Abiodun expressed gratitude towards Governor Seyi Makinde for the ongoing road rehabilitation efforts within the community, expressing satisfaction with this administration’s commitment to infrastructural development.
